BAD BOY JOE
BadBoyJoe is currently one of New York's most sought after Club DJ’s and Producers. Born in Brooklyn, house music. His early inspiration came from the Latin Rascals and Chep Nuñez. "I purchased my first turntables back in 1988…a pair of 1200’s and a mixer from a buddy who needed the money for his wedding. I just started playing around making mix-tapes for friends, and the next thing I knew, I bought a used reel to reel, some razor blades and tons of scotch tape and I just started trying to do what Chep Nuñez, Tony Moran and Albert Cabrera did." After countless hours behind the turntables, and more than a decade perfecting his unique "high-energy" style of multi-editing, Joe ‘Bad Boy’ Marcano has given up the razor blades in favor of a Mac G4, ProTools, DIGI 001 and a state-of-the-art recording studio, where JOE spends many hours working on a mix. Besides producing numerous mix shows and events for New York City’s reigning dance music station WKTU 103.5FM, He's also worked on KTU’s Beatstock 2002, and 2003, a party with over 20,000 people in attendance. As no stranger to the Mix Compilation, Bad Boy Joe has many successful projects to his credit, especially his collaboration with fellow DJ Louie DeVito, on The NYC Underground Party Compilations. To this day The NYC Underground Party series HAS SOLD OVER 1,000,000 COPIES and remains the largest selling dance CD franchise in U.S. history. Furthermore, Joe and Louie have continued to expand upon their success with the debut of their Dance Factory and Dance Divas series. BadBoyJoe also has a successful series of Freestyle music compilations entitled: The Best Of Freestyle Megamix Volumes 1 Thru 5, which to date have sold over 300,000 copies. With album sales now in the millions, Bad Boy Joe stands among the top selling DJ’s in U.S. history. With his unique mixing style Bad Boy Joe has set himself apart from all other mix compilations, now he brings you the new dance label: MEGAMIX RECORDINGS.
